I was resting at home today when I received a call from the factory saying that the gasket of the sight glass in the resin tower had burst during a switching process, resulting in a severe leak. I hope everyone who works in this industry can help analyze what might have caused this issue
The main reason for the rupture of the sight glass gasket is pressure buildup inside the tower. The causes of this pressure buildup include: 1. The feed valve of the resin tower is open while the discharge valve is not; 2. The pressure drop in the resin column is too high ; 3. The corresponding pipes are not unobstructed.
What medium does your resin column treat? Based on my experience: The resin tower is used to treat media containing aromatic compounds; fluororubber may be chosen for the gaskets, and melting is the cause ; The gasket was not positioned correctly during installation, so it was not installed properly ; Poor quality of gaskets
The sequential operation of the valves causes pressure buildup inside the tower

Common issue: automatic control valves fail or respond slowly by a few seconds, resulting in pressure buildup inside the tower; Also, after filling (replenishing) the resin, incomplete exhaust can cause the system gaskets to be pushed out once the resin tower is put into operation. Additionally, since EPDM rubber gaskets are used, do not tighten them too much when fastening them; it is sufficient to get them in place. Being too tight will only cause the rubber gasket to be pushed outward more easily, leading to it coming out. As a supplementary note: the gasket for the resin tower has been in use for almost four years; it has been pushed out several times, but the pushed-out gaskets have never been found to be damaged, unless they were intentionally cut as part of the gasket replacement process.
This situation occurs when the sealing surface is not flat
