Recently, there was a project involving the replacement of internal leakage valves and flanges in high-pressure fire hoses (pipe diameter: 350–500; operating pressure: 1.2 MPa; medium: fire water). The chief engineer of the company involved in the welding work suggested that radiographic testing should be carried out on 5% of the weld joints in accordance with the construction specifications. Which standards should be referred to for this? Is it necessary to perform radiographic testing on threaded pipes?
For butt welds, flaw detection is required during welding; this may be based on standard 50235. However, the cost changes when flaw detection is necessary
