Dear teachers: The polymerization reactor was stopped after 240 minutes of reaction (the shortest possible reaction time), but both the pressure drop and the conversion rate had not yet been reached. What could be the reason for this?
What products are being produced? For the polymerization conversion rate and degree of polymerization in your polymerization process, are online measurements or laboratory tests being used at present?
Is the terminator added by the program itself, or is it added manually? Is the minimum reaction time set in your DCS program at 240 minutes? When the time comes, should it be added to multiple reactors in sequence or just to one reactor?
Is the maximum time in your recipe also 240 minutes?

Nothing is specified in your question; I guess it’s possible that there was overheating and overpressure during the initial phase. At 240 minutes, the program starts to calculate the pressure, and at that point the pressure is relatively high. A terminator is added due to the overheating and overpressure in the early stage, and now the process is in the cooling and pressure-reduction phase, during which the pressure drops quickly, allowing for the discharge of the material.
