The formaldehyde production unit of the polyformaldehyde plant at Shenning Coal Industry Group’s methanol division has been in continuous operation for 170 days. As of October 14, Unit B of this formaldehyde production facility had been operating continuously for 170 days, which is 99 days more than the designed duration; its operational efficiency reached 283% of the designed level. Focusing on the long-term development of the polyoxymethylene production facility, the Methanol Division implemented the \"Three-Year Plan for Reaching Standards in Polyoxymethylene Production\" to carry out technical improvements. By working on extending the operational cycle of the processes involved in Formaldehyde production – where, according to the original design, the silver catalyst had to be replaced and sent for regeneration every 60 days – methods such as adjusting the specifications of the copper mesh, improving the filtration efficiency of the reaction feed gas, optimizing the ignition process, and installing additional methanol filters were employed. These measures significantly extended the lifespan of the silver catalyst and reduced costs. The alcohol content in formaldehyde also decreased from 2.5% to 5% to around 1% to 2%.
