Successful first feeding of the super-large KSY gasification industrial test unit / Author/Source: Date: 2016-10-24 Clicks: 8. The 100-ton/day industrial test unit for Yanchang Petroleum’s KSY super-large transport-bed gasification technology (with a designed coal feeding rate of up to 5,000 tons/day after scaling up) had its preheater ignited on October 8, 2016, marking the start of hot-commissioning and coal feeding tests. It operated steadily for 14 consecutive days, totaling 335 hours of operation. All process indicators and technical parameters met the requirements set for the first trial run, representing a significant breakthrough in gasification technology and holding important milestone significance. The main technical achievements of this experiment are as follows: 1. The pilot plant achieved successful feeding in a single attempt, enabling the entire process to operate smoothly; the feeding load was 50%, and the system ran normally, yielding a large amount of operational data and valuable experience. 2. The perfect coupling of the first and second reactors, characterized by a high level of engineering innovation, enables efficient conversion of carbon and efficient production of syngas under conditions of two different temperature fields, fluidization fields, and high-rate dual-circulation fluidization of solid particles. This provides reliable data for the process package of the 5,000 tons/day KSY industrial plant under development. 3. The patented and proprietary equipment in the system, such as the lift tube reactor, TCD reactor, high-efficiency multi-stage centrifuge, continuous vacuum ash discharge device, fluidized bed waste boiler, and PCD dust collector, are operating well. The design concepts have been realized in terms of process technology, forming a complete gasification innovation system; its advancement and reliability have been fully verified through operation. The successful first feed trial marks a new stage in the development of the KSY gasification technology. After addressing some of the engineering issues on site, the facility will undergo another round of feed operations and further development of larger-scale process packages, with industrial demonstration and widespread technical application expected to be achieved during the 13th Five-Year Plan period.
