What type of heat exchanger should be used for heat exchange between catalytic dry gas and hot water? Catalytic dry gas: 33.6~68 degrees, hot water: 74~69 degrees ； With a fixed tube sheet type? U-tube type? Still a floating head type?
The latter two are both fine. If maintenance is taken into account, a floating head is the better choice!
A fixed tube sheet is sufficient; a floating head design is complex to manufacture, and it’s not necessary if the medium isn’t dirty, nor is there a large temperature difference.
In my opinion, U-tube heat exchangers are inexpensive； Moreover, the tube-side condensate has a low fouling thermal resistance. Is catalytic dry gas fed into the tube side?
