What are the respective functions of adding Na2CO3 twice to the brine in 1# baffle tank and the rear reactor?
What is your company’s process technology – Kay Membrane, Gore Membrane, Jiusi Membrane, or something else? The purpose of adding sodium carbonate is to remove calcium ions from the deionized water. Also, is the poster sure that sodium carbonate was used in #1 baffle tank instead of sodium hypochlorite?
Our process does not include a No. 1 baffle tank; the membrane filter used is Kaimo membrane
The original poster is really humorous; without a #1 deflector channel, how could sodium carbonate be added? I think the poster is here to liven up the atmosphere of this forum. :lol
I am indeed an outsider; I’m not trained in craftsmanship. There might be some funny moments, haha. However, our process flow diagram does not show a No. 1 baffle; Na2CO3 is added in Baffle No. 2, and NaOH and NaCLO are also added in Baffle No. 2
It’s probably the original poster who wrote it incorrectly. Chlorous sodium and sodium hydroxide are added to the pre-folding channel in the salt-removal section, with the aim of removing magnesium ions and decomposing organic matter. Sodium carbonate is added only to the reaction tank after pretreatment.
Is the owner’s process one in which calcium and magnesium react in a reaction tank? Is it still the principle of adding sodium carbonate before entering the preprocessor to increase nuclei?

In the barium-based nitrate removal process in the membrane process, a clarification tank is used; before entering this tank, there is a baffle tank, which is Baffle Tank No. 1, and it is used for adding barium chloride. If I’m not mistaken, the company where the original poster works likely has a brine treatment facility built around 2000; initially, barium-based denitration was used, but it was later switched to membrane-based denitration. The purpose of keeping the clarification tanks and the #1 baffle tank from the original barium-based denitration system in use is to prevent them from becoming useless. Additionally, leaving such equipment idle can lead to corrosion. It’s also possible that the company uses some halide salts, which contain high levels of calcium; adding sodium carbonate serves to allow some of the calcium carbonate to settle in the clarification tanks, thereby reducing the load on the membrane filters.
