No, teachers hold a low or ordinary status. :lol
Teachers don’t feel respected except during holidays. Especially these days, physical punishment is prohibited and such: with children in their rebellious phase, if you use a bit more strict punishment, the students will report you to the media, and the parents will come to deal with you.
So, apart from teachers’ holidays, there’s not much I envy.
