As the title indicates, it’s a vertical shielded pump; the side bearings of the impeller are severely worn, while those at the rear end are in better condition. There are issues with the axial force of the exposed wires. I would like to ask the experts here – what could be the cause of this phenomenon?
It’s probably due to too low a load, which caused a vacuum to form
1. Check whether the circulation line is unobstructed. 2. Replace the graphite bearings, check the bearing clearance, and inspect the thrust plate; if it is worn, it needs to be replaced, and the thrust plate clearance should be adjusted again. 3. Check whether the inlet filter is clogged, which could cause vacuum conditions. 4. Check the motor rotation direction; after starting the pump, verify that the TRG gauge is in the green range, and check for any vibration or abnormal noises
When the shielded pump is operating properly, the pressure on both sides of the impeller is balanced. However, when the flow rate is too low, this balance is disrupted, and the thrust disc is pushed toward the front bearing, resulting in wear of the front bearing
