Feasibility of industrial wireless receiving device solutions

Dear colleagues, recently the company has requested that data be collected from several measuring instruments located approximately 300 meters away from the control room. These instruments already have wireless transmission capabilities (they are equipped with transmitters). My plan is to install a GPRS receiver in the control room and connect it to a digital display via RS232; I’m not sure if this will work. (The approach of using a GPRS receiver connected to DCS is too costly; we don’t want to use it.)
There are manufacturers specialized in this task; they convert the 4-20Ma signals from the instruments into wireless signals on-site. The control room receives these wireless signals via antennas, and they are then usually converted to RS485 signals for communication with the DCS using Modbus. GPRS uses the networks of China Mobile or China Unicom, and a phone card is required; some manufacturers establish their own wireless networks using the ZIGBEE protocol.
