There is a gas station that wants to use the air released from the LNG storage tanks at the station as a fuel source for the wall-mounted heaters in the station building. Does anyone with experience have any similar insights?
There are indeed those that use evaporated gas as a fuel source for wall-mounted boilers; I’m not sure what the performance is like.
In the design of the new stations built by our company over the past two years, we requested the design institute to use the evaporated gas for domestic use at those stations. However, the process design of the old stations did not include this feature. We now want to make changes on our own, but doing so according to the design standards of the new stations requires performing welding work; therefore, it is necessary to empty the residue in the tanks, purge and replace the contents, and also pre-cool the liquid before introducing it again. All of this makes the process quite complicated
Obtain a hot work permit; A branch line can be added to provide a nitrogen purging and displacement port; check whether the tank has such a port already.
It’s an old station; there are no reserved openings on the storage tanks there
The pipes are prefabricated outside the station; once prefabricated, they are connected directly to the liquid outlet valve of the storage tank using flanges. When using BOG gas, a vaporizer, as well as pressure regulation, metering, and odorization facilities, must also be installed. (Not designed for use within the station, nor for dosing or odorization)
