In a reciprocating compressor, there is a screw in the middle of the intake valve cover – what is its purpose? The exhaust valve does not have such a screw.
Thread plugs and screws are not the same thing.
By looking at the drawings, it should be clear whether it is a structural requirement or a functional one.
There is a rod in the middle to push open the unloader
