The cold filter point of the hydrogenated diesel produced by our factory has become lower; the management has ordered that the reaction depth be increased as well as the proportion of catalyst used. I would like to know why this is being done!

The low-temperature fluidity of diesel is related to its n-paraffins; the greater the degree of hydrogenation, the higher the paraffin content and thus the higher the cold filter plugging point.
Modification: mixing accelerated combustion raw materials with regular charcoal
The process of diesel fluidity reduction and modification actually involves, under the action of a catalyst, the breaking of long-chain straight-alkane molecules into shorter-chain straight-alkane molecules, thereby achieving the goal of modifying the diesel’s properties and reducing its viscosity. If the cold filter point does not meet the requirements, it indicates that the modification process was not effective enough and that the reaction depth was insufficient; therefore, increasing the degree of reaction is the most direct solution. Increasing the amount of catalyst used means that, given a fixed processing volume, less conventional diesel must be used. Since the freezing point of diesel treated with catalyst is much lower than that of conventional diesel, by using these two approaches together, it is possible to quickly achieve a cold filter point that meets the specifications.
