Regarding the issue you mentioned, is the pipe between the inlet and outlet of the pump quite long? If it doesn’t grow, the volume of the different materials is roughly the same in these two cases; changing the valve to switch materials simply results in a slight difference in volume. Since the volumes are similar, why not place it at the outlet? Moreover, installing it importally will affect the pump’s suction volume and thus its performance
