A teacher for a day is a father for life; this saying is true. I work at a chemical plant, so as soon as I started working there, an engineer was assigned as my mentor. Most of our brothers’ masters probably smoke and drink. So, what do people give as gifts during holidays? The Geometry of Value
I’ve never given any gifts, nor do I have a true mentor; it’s my colleagues who help me out.
There’s no need to give gifts~~~~ I’ll teach them everything they need to know; we often eat together to strengthen our relationship. There’s no need for gifts either~~~~ When working overtime, it’s always me who pays for my apprentices. Young people don’t have much money when they first start working, so it doesn’t matter whether it’s just the two of us eating – we go to ordinary restaurants, which is perfectly fine. Since they don’t smoke or drink, the cost of a meal for two isn’t high. The young apprentice is very diligent, and I am willing to teach him.
Great master, awesome! As long as it comes from a sincere place, there’s no need to give something of high value; you don’t have much money since you just started working, and the master won’t mind.
It depends on how the relationship between master and apprentice is. Giving gifts is just a formality; if the relationship is good, gifts enhance that relationship. If the relationship is average, gifts can help bring the parties closer together. But if the relationship is poor, it’s better not to give any gifts at all. The key is in everyday life. Adjust your mindset – the master-apprentice relationship these days is not as rigid as it used to be, where a teacher remained one’s father for life; over time, a brotherly bond develops between them. If there is a large age difference between the master and the apprentice, it is still necessary to follow the etiquette regarding elders. In short, if you treat others with sincerity, they will treat you with sincerity as well.
Everyone goes through a beginner phase; one should remember the feelings from that time and pass on those feelings to others. When I was a beginner, my mentor took care of me in the same way~~~~
Well said; it’s only right to show appreciation during festivals. As long as one’s IQ isn’t that low, they should not have a poor relationship with their master.
Leadership also implies this; it’s not about giving gifts, which is such a vulgar thing – it’s simply the courteous behavior that should be shown during festivals
There aren’t many opportunities to eat together; I think we should show our appreciation during festivals
