Sealing types of butterfly valves

Does the sealing type of a butterfly valve affect the leakage rate? A batch of butterfly valves has not yet been installed, and even after filling them with plain water, severe leaks occurred. The manufacturer claims that there is a problem with the model we selected (D71). I’m a bit confused – is there really an issue with this model of valve?

No matter what type of valve it is, new ones should not leak. Is it not closed properly?
It’s not possible to tell whether there is a leak or not for this model you described. But please report such issues to the purchasing department; provide pictures and videos and arrange a direct return
Butterfly valves have excellent sealing properties; generally, those that are new should not leak, especially when the medium is water, in which case leakage should be even less likely.
D71X? Those of the medium-type have multiple linings, giving them excellent sealing performance. It won’t leak.
The manufacturer is talking nonsense; if there’s a leak, is it still the valve? It’s better to just buy a connector

If it’s a soft seal, there will be no leakage at all once it’s closed properly. Even in the case of a metal seal, a new valve shouldn’t leak significantly; it’s clearly a problem with the valve. Take photos and send them to the manufacturer
