Are there any brothers in coal-to-natural gas projects? Either those that are already in operation or those that are under development will do; what methanation technologies do you all use? How is it working?
Our factory uses David Generation 2 technology; it was put into operation not long ago and is working well.
The 250,000-ton LNG project of Longmen Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. came online in 2013 and has been operating normally. Membrane separation technology is employed to isolate hydrogen from the feed gas, raising the methane content to 38–42%, after which the gas proceeds to a deep cooling process for liquefaction.
Current technologies include those from David Topsoe, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Northwest Research Institute, as well as those in operation at Topsoe (Qinghua, HuiNeng) and David (Datang)
For the second phase of our company’s project, water-cooled walls using water-coal slurry along with gasification using powdered coal are employed; for synthesis, DAVY’s five-stage reaction process is used. The facility capable of producing 1 billion cubic meters of SNG per year is currently under construction, and both the recycle gas compressors and waste heat boilers are designed and manufactured in China.
