Is there any difference between the so-called alignment of the magnetic center line and the alignment of the coupling that we are talking about? What’s the difference?
First, locate the magnetic center line of the motor to determine the distance between the couplings, and then align them properly
The magnetic center line refers to the axial equilibrium position of the motor rotor within the motor stator during normal operation of the motor (especially with sliding bearings). Generally, large motor manufacturers indicate this on the nameplate, and it can also be determined by running the motor without load. When aligning the coupling, the motor rotor must first be pulled to the indicated magnetic center position before aligning the coupling.
