As the title suggests, I am cautious about using blended oil slurry, mainly due to concerns regarding the extraction efficiency and catalyst particle issues.
We have a atmospheric and vacuum distillation asphalt unit in which oil slurry is blended at the bottom product extraction point; it has been in operation for over 2 months now, and no issues such as wear on the impellers of the bottom pump have been detected. Monitoring is carried out continuously during operation.
