What is the impact of ammonia on sulfur recovery?

The impact is significant; the presence of NH3 in the system causes it to react directly with H2S, SO2, and even SO3 to form salts. Even if the impact is minor, it still increases the pressure drop across the entire system. The pressure in a sulfur recovery system is already low, approaching atmospheric pressure; It has a significant impact, as it directly blocks the equipment pipelines and causes the installation to stop operating ; It will also cause excessive NOX levels in the flue gases, which will result in a fine being imposed on you – no discussion possible.
I’m afraid to ask, but what is the mechanism of sulfation of alumina catalysts? Logically, the oxidizing capacity of NO or NO2 produced by ammonia combustion shouldn’t be high, right?
