Purpose of chlorine cooling: cooling, removing moisture, and eliminating impurities such as salts
Cooling and dehumidification? Don’t scare me. They wouldn’t do this in pilot production. Most cooling (cryogenic cooling) is done to remove impurities from chlorine (mainly non-condensable gases)
Cooling and dehydrating means-------cooling water vapor into water, which is quite normal.
Chlorine gas coming out of the electrolyzer contains a large amount of moisture; cooling can certainly remove most of this moisture. The moisture content in chlorine gas decreases as the temperature drops (above 9.8 degrees), and in industrial operations, the temperature is kept above 13 degrees (using titanium cooling). The chlorine gas scrubber is able to reduce the temperature of moist chlorine gas, which is around 85 degrees, to around 40 degrees.
Uh, I get it. I thought it was sulfuric acid.
