Our factory’s reciprocating compressors are equipped with online condition monitoring systems. One of the reciprocating compressors has reached an alarm level of 9 cylinder impacts, but the unit is currently operating normally; the sound from the cylinder is acceptable, and the piston clearance is within normal limits after disassembly. Have any other companies encountered similar problems? How were they dealt with?

Check whether there is a problem with the instrument detection system； Check whether there are any foreign objects inside the pipe.
It’s very likely caused by water; if water stains are found on the inlet and outlet valves, that’s definitely the case.
Check whether the reciprocating compressor is experiencing liquid slugging by examining the inlet and outlet temperatures. Check the valve disc at the same time
Is it liquid hammer? Is there a lot of fluid discharge from the collection pipe?
If 9 times is still normal, it’s likely that you have set the acceleration alarm threshold too low
