For equipment, the design pressure refers to the maximum pressure specified at the top of the vessel (including additional conditions of the process system). For pipes, the design pressure refers to the pressure under the most severe conditions among all the combinations of operating pressures and temperatures that may occur in the piping system under normal operating conditions.
Chapter 1 of the \"Code for Design of Process System Engineering\" (HG/T20570-1995) and the \"Code for Design of Industrial Metal Piping\" (GB50316-2008) should both address the issue of piping design pressure, right?
