We work in the field of chemical processing technologies, and our vacuum systems are exposed to flammable and explosive gases. Could someone please advise us on how to detect leaks in these vacuum systems during daily operations, given that hydraulic pressure is not an option. Thank you all!
Still use pressure suppression for leak testing; nitrogen can be used if necessary. It’s quite practical and safe as well.

If clean water has no adverse effect during production, a container such as a spray bottle or jar can be filled with water and used to spray the areas where leakage may occur, provided that a sound can be heard when there is a leak. I used this method before and it worked fine, as long as the water had no impact.
Leak detection in the vacuum system: 1. It is possible to detect the oxygen content in the exhaust gas from the vacuum pump as a preliminary indicator; 2. To seal local leaks tightly, plastic wrap or similar materials can be applied or wrapped around them; check for any deformation to make a judgment ; 3. To check for leaks in the drain system, water can be used for this purpose – fill the drain with water and see if there is any backflow ;
Our company usually conducts pressure leak testing, and both its feasibility and effectiveness are quite good
