As the title suggests, is the calculation of safety valves done by the process engineering team or by the equipment engineering team? What parameters does the process need to provide for all the professional calculations related to the equipment? Thank you

But since your team handles all the calculations related to equipment, then there’s no need to worry about it

Normally, it is the process engineering department that handles the calculations, but here we have the technical department in charge of the equipment that do the calculations themselves.

Valve calculation isn’t related to the equipment field, right? First and foremost, it involves process-related calculations, including discharge pressure, discharge temperature, discharge volume, and the required discharge area; the diameter of the inlet and outlet is determined initially. After that, coordination with the piping team takes place to ensure that the material of the safety valve is at least as good as that of the pipes it connects to. Then, the process department sends out inquiries to safety valve manufacturers, who will carry out further calculations to finally determine the appropriate material and diameter. This process has nothing to do with the equipment field.
