Flow meter

Vortex flowmeters are a category of flowmeters; vortex street flowmeters belong to this category. Turbine flowmeters, on the other hand, are impeller-type flowmeters. Vortex flowmeters measure flow rate by utilizing the principle of fluid vibration, with the frequency of these vibrations being related to the flow velocity of the fluid. Vortex street flowmeters operate based on the Karman vortex street principle, measuring the frequency of vortices in the fluid. They generally consist of a vortex generator and components for detecting vortex signals, and they are susceptible to influence from pipeline vibrations and fluid pulsations. Impeller-type flowmeters measure flow rate by determining the angular velocity of the rotating impeller, with this angular velocity being directly proportional to the fluid flow velocity. Turbine flowmeters measure the frequency at which magnetic blades pass through coils; they typically consist of a housing, guide elements, a turbine, shafts and bearings, as well as components for generating signals.
