I’m a complete beginner; I’m not from an instrumentation field. I hope kind people can help answer my questions. Recently I encountered a requirement: a differential pressure gauge needs to be connected to four valves. How should this be installed? I really don’t understand it – doesn’t a differential pressure gauge have only two ports?
There are two root valves and two drain valves; the connection between the root valves, drain valves, and differential pressure transmitter is in the form of a tee. Either use two valves at the root, and two more next to the transmitter; this way there’s no need to go to the pressure tapping point to close the valves, which is more convenient.
Could you send the original request details so that I can understand its purpose? For some critical process streams that cannot be stopped under normal operating conditions, two shut-off valves are used in series, so that if one valve fails to close properly, the second valve can be used to shut it off.

It’s possible that you are under high pressure and need secondary door protection.
It would be better to have pictures; it’s hard to answer like this.....
I think it’s either the fear that it won’t seal properly – with two valves – or it’s a vent valve
What you’re referring to isn’t called a root valve; and if we go by what you say, shouldn’t there also be a balance valve?
