What changes occur in the viscosity index of various lubricating oils after hydrogenation? The viscosity index of lubricant base oil after hydrorefining is relatively low; what will happen to its viscosity index if isomerization is carried out?
The viscosity index should increase after hydrogenation; after isomerization, the viscosity index increases slightly compared to that of dewaxed oil, but decreases compared to that of the crude oil.
