Why does a nitrogen production unit need a cold dryer?

Our company has installed a nitrogen production system, along with a refrigerated dryer. As I’m new to this field, I’m not quite familiar with its functions; I hope someone experienced can tell me the specific purpose of this refrigerated dryer
To remove moisture from compressed gas, air compressors need to be equipped with moisture removal devices
Remove the moisture from the compressed gas, otherwise it will damage the molecular sieve in the nitrogen generator.
Remove water, otherwise the adsorbent molecular sieve won’t be able to handle it!
