I’m learning *Hysys; before I relied on imitating what others did. This time I need to carefully consider why things are done in a certain way, otherwise it will be difficult for me to make further progress. One of the things that is confusing is why, after entering various test and analysis data, there is a need for a Cut/Blend process – what is the purpose of this process? To what extent do different data values affect the results regarding the properties of the oil? The current understanding is to give you an opportunity to decide how many fake components/narrow fractions need to be created. Is this understanding comprehensive? To what extent does the amount of fake components affect the simulation results?
A curve that you want to simulate can only be represented as a polyline; the more segments there are, the more accurate the simulation will be. That’s more or less what it means.
The finer the segmentation, the greater the accuracy of the simulation results, but this depends on the computer’s memory and the maximum capacity for component segmentation within HYSYS. In principle, it can be done according to one’s own needs; if more accurate results for a certain part are required, finer divisions can be made. :lol
Crude oil has many complex components, and in many cases it is difficult to obtain a relatively accurate analysis of its components in the same way as with gas analysis. This requires obtaining the pseudo-components or artificial components of crude oil through cutting or batching, so as to acquire the physical property data of the crude oil for use in simulation calculations.
