Are there any overlapping parts in the requirements for weld inspection and weld spacing?

It wasn’t explained very clearly; in weld inspection, there are requirements regarding the space around the welds. So, are there any requirements regarding the spacing between the welds in that surrounding area? Or is it that as long as the spacing between welds meets the requirements specified in the standards regarding weld spacing, it’s two separate matters unrelated to weld inspection?
The distance between welds: for pipes, this distance should be at least equal to the pipe diameter. The main consideration here is the stress between the welds; it is different from the requirements regarding the visual inspection of welds. This is primarily a design issue, while the visual inspection of welds relates to the quality of welding performed by the welder
