In rammed coke ovens, the moisture content of the coal fed into the furnace is kept between 9% and 11%. How is this moisture level controlled? Our factory relies mainly on people’s intuition, so the moisture level is not very stable. Are there any better control methods?

This is a coking plant, not a coal washing plant, so there is no control for coal washing processes.
The water flow is controlled based on the coal flow, via automatic control; even if the coal flow remains constant, the moisture content in the coal can vary, so the amount of water added should be adjusted accordingly. How exactly is it controlled? ?
Based on experience, the water supply pipe is generally placed at the outlet of the crusher.
We keep the moisture content of the coal fed into the furnace between 10% and 13%; when it falls below 11%, we activate the mist-type water spraying nozzles located after the crusher.
