For a single-stage impeller, is it possible to achieve dynamic balancing when D/b is greater than 6 on the machine?
It’s possible to do that; remove duplicates and work on both the wheel and impeller surfaces
According to API610, 8th edition: 1. For single-stage and two-stage pumps with a rotational speed of less than 1800 rpm, static balancing is sufficient, regardless of whether the D/b ratio is greater than or less than 6. If dynamic balancing is required, it is necessary to ensure that D/b<6. 2. When the rotational speed is ≥ 1800 rpm, if D/b ≥ 6, static balancing alone is sufficient. However, the remaining unbalance after balancing must be equal to or less than 1/2 of the allowable unbalance. If dynamic balancing is required, it is necessary to check whether the balance of the two correction surfaces can be achieved separately on a balancing machine; if not, only static balancing can be performed.
Currently, the standards only mention single-sided balance and double-sided balance – are both considered dynamic balance? How are dynamic balance and static balance defined? What are the standards for the static balance of impellers? Can G2.5 be achieved?
