To accelerate the development of the fluorine chemical industry, the city’s Economic and Information Commission has recently introduced three additional measures. 　　First, accelerate the expansion of the supply chain and advance the construction of new projects. At present, Jinfu Chemical has completed the construction of the facilities for its high-end fluorine-containing inorganic salt production projects, including those for the production of 20,000 tons per year of potassium fluorotitanate, potassium fluoroborate, and cesium fluoroaluminate used as novel welding fluxes. Jinlang New Materials is in the trial production phase for its project aimed at producing 1,200 tons per year of microcapsule foaming agents, while equipment installation is underway for its projects related to the production of 1,000 tons per year of fluorine-containing pharmaceutical intermediates and fluorine-containing liquid crystal display materials. 　　Second, strengthen industrial division of labor and cooperation. Sanming City has formulated a development plan for the fluorine chemical industry for the 13th Five-Year Plan period. In line with the city’s overall strategic approach, it has been decided that Sanyuan should focus on developing the industries related to fluoropolymers and fluorine-based fine chemicals, Mingxi should concentrate on developing the industry of fluorine-based fine chemicals, while Qingliu should focus on developing the industry of high-end inorganic fluorides. 　　Third, promote technological upgrades in enterprises to achieve transformation and upgrading. At present, Dongying Chemical’s 20,000 tons per year production facility for the environmentally friendly fluorinated refrigerant pentafluoroethane (HFC-125) has been completed and put into operation in September this year; the projects related to high-end fluorinated specialty chemicals such as perfluorohexane and fluorinated lubricants by Haisufu have had their site selection processes finalized; the second phase of Fujian SanNong’s polytetrafluoroethylene production project is nearly complete, with official operation set to begin in the first quarter of 2017.
