I would like to ask for your advice. I have a batch of waste liquid tanks, all of which are 200L iron tanks; several tens of thousands of these tanks need to be sent for incineration each year. However, there is a problem: toxic gases are released when the tanks are opened. I’m not sure what effective methods exist to control or capture these toxic exhaust gases. Should a dedicated barrel opening room be created? After opening the barrel, it is pumped into a storage tank using a barrel pump for storage. Additionally, are there any good machinery for transporting barrels, as well as a set of procedures for transporting and opening barrels and unloading their contents? The owner’s facility must be dedicated to the treatment of solid waste, right? Isn’t there a standard procedure for this? I believe the entity from which the waste drums come should ensure that all chemicals have been used up, aside from any residual liquid left on the walls. It is definitely not allowed to release toxic waste gases into the atmosphere; otherwise, the environmental impact assessment will not be approved.
When I get to the site where the burning takes place, I need to open the barrel and pump its contents into a large tank. Opening the barrel directly in the open air releases a lot of volatile gases; using a suction hood isn’t very effective. It would be best to create a room where the air can be drawn in, but I haven’t done this before and don’t know how to do it properly. There is also a large amount of waste liquid tanks that need to be transported to the receiving area and storage area. Is it possible to have ideal centralized handling machinery? If it’s a liquid, it might be easier to handle; can neutralization be used directly? Gases are a bit troublesome; solve it!
Is it possible to make two small openings first when opening the barrel, and insert the pump tube deep into the barrel?
I don’t think you have any good solutions! I’ve taken the company’s waste residues to the solid waste disposal center; the smell there is absolutely unbearable! Everything from the entire park is delivered there – there are all kinds of flavors!
The staff at the solid waste processing center do have ways to protect themselves, such as using SCBA and wearing chemical protective suits, but what about environmental pollution?

It’s no wonder their area isn’t polluted – there are objects of all colors on the ground; it’s probably due to leaking or broken barrels! There is only one treatment plant in the entire park; there’s no other choice, as the volume of waste to be treated is huge! Their work is easy too – they need to take a break after just 2 hours of working! I leave work at the scheduled time – it’s just too toxic!
This is easy to handle – a bucket pump will do. However, inserting the bucket pump manually requires a lot of effort, and the waste materials attached to the walls are quite toxic; it would be best to design a bucket pump that can be operated mechanically in a centralized manner. This reduces the likelihood of coming into contact with waste liquid, thereby improving safety; it’s just not clear how to design it.
