Are there specific requirements for fasteners in pressure pipelines? For one of our ethylene pipelines, which is a stainless steel pipe with a diameter of DN20, the screws used to connect the flanges and valves – the safety department requires that these screws be of high strength, but I couldn’t find any evidence to support this requirement. What are people’s views on this issue? Are there any specific regulations?
Just choose according to the flange fastener standards for the chemical industry – is it necessary to go for custom-made solutions?

The preload for each bolt must be calculated based on parameters such as pressure and sealing materials; thereafter, the torque is determined using this preload. Finally, the mechanical property grade of the bolts to be used is selected based on their allowable stress (such as 4.8, 5.6, 5.8, 6.8, 8.8, 9.8, etc.)
