The hardware company in Dongguan originally had five vacuum pumps in its testing workshop, each with a power rating of 7.5 KW. One vacuum pump was used for each piece of equipment, operating for 8 hours a day continuously, which led to high energy consumption and significant noise levels. Later, one of our Altus screw vacuum pumps was used to replace those five pumps. This single pump was capable of serving all five pieces of equipment. The vacuum pump comes equipped with a buffer tank that maintains a pressure of 48 kPa; it only starts working when the pressure drops, thereby achieving energy savings. According to the electricity consumption statistics for the testing workshop in April 2016, the energy consumption per unit of product was 715.45 kwh per 10,000 units. This is compared to 800.52 kwh per 10,000 units before the implementation of this solution. The annual energy savings amounted to (800.52 – 715.45) × 203 × 12 = 20,723 kwh, which translates to savings of 165,800 yuan per year.
