During the wet quenching of coke, what percentage of water evaporates? In other words, how many tons of water are consumed per ton of coke?
0.5 cubic meters per ton of coke in winter, 0.6 cubic meters per ton of coke in summer
Low-moisture coking generally involves a water consumption of 0.4 tons of water per ton of coke; in other words, 2 tons of water are used per ton of coke, of which about 0.4 tons evaporate
I still don’t understand the principle behind low-water coking. In normal wet coking, water is pumped directly onto the red coke. In low-water coking, there’s simply an additional high-level water tank; the water flows down due to its own weight, and this is what enables low-water coking? I don’t understand……
