May I ask: In what applications are welded steel pipes for low-pressure fluid transportation (GB/T3091-2008) and straight-seam electric welding steel pipes (GB/T13793-2008) used? I looked at the two standards; the previous standard explains them. This standard includes: 1. Spiral-welded submerged-arc welded steel pipes (SAWH); 2. Straight-welded submerged-arc welded steel pipes (SAWL); 3. Straight-welded high-frequency resistance welded steel pipes (ERW) ; The standard specifications mentioned later apply to straight-seam high-frequency resistance welded steel pipes (ERW). I’m confused now – doesn’t the earlier standard already include the later one? Why is it necessary to draft two standards? I would appreciate some guidance from those with more experience. Thank you!
