Dear experts, I have a question: what are the advantages and disadvantages of a water seal tank equipped with a liquid baffle compared to one without such a baffle?
With a liquid baffle, a water seal can be achieved with very little water; without it, a lot of water is required. You can see this from your diagram
This explanation is not entirely accurate; if the goal is simply to achieve a water seal, then you can make the water seal tank smaller, thereby achieving what you mean by using a small amount of water for the water seal. The model with a baffle is what is known as an integrated water seal and liquid separation system; it not only serves to provide a water seal but also separates the combustible liquid droplets from the vented air, ensuring sufficient gas space and travel distance.
