The plant has one oxygen compressor that uses multi-stage compression, and it is equipped with four safety valves, each with a different setting pressure – the lowest being 0.5 MPa and the highest 7.7 MPa. The manager would like to connect the outlet pipes of these safety valves to a single main pipe in order to discharge the gas outside the workshop. Is it possible to combine pipes with different setting pressures into one single pipe? Seeking advice
This shouldn’t work; the high-pressure vent, medium-pressure vent, and low-pressure vent should be separated. Otherwise, differences in back pressure will prevent the pressure from being released by the safety valves
