High-temperature valve stuck

Devices that remain unused for long periods, such as steam valves and condensate valves, are prone to getting stuck and becoming inoperable. They work fine after being replaced during maintenance – but how should they be maintained on a regular basis?
Regular activities are needed. If possible, take some rainproofing measures.
Under regular use, let it operate; anything that remains stationary for too long will get damaged
Jamming is caused by differential thermal expansion due to unilateral heating. For those with a small diameter, a globe valve can be used. For gate valves, an elastic gate plate can be required.
After the valve is fully opened, turn it back half a turn – do not close it completely, as overheating due to complete closure can cause the valve to get stuck. When shutting down, it is considered complete once there is no internal leakage. It’s better to tap it with a wooden hammer during routine line inspections.
To establish a contingency plan, regular maintenance is required.
The stuck valve was replaced, the drive unit was removed; all the oil inside had evaporated. After applying rust remover and butter, it moved again and is now usable.
