Can a DN40 socket weld flange and a DN65X40 concentric reducer be welded directly together?
Generally, it’s not possible, as the straight sections of the concentric round and square shapes aren’t that long.
No, a shorting transition is required.
No prohibition clause was seen. . . . It’s just that the straight edges aren’t long enough, making welding inconvenient

Plug welding is not acceptable; direct welding is possible.
Reducers are okay, but spools are not
The length of the straight pipe section is insufficient; it shouldn’t be possible to insert it. Even if welding is possible, it will not meet the welding requirements. Welding just a short section of straight pipe shouldn’t cost much, right?
