Back in school, it was always said that pipes are generally only 6 meters long. Why then have I seen pipes that are around 10 meters long? Has production technology improved, or are the types of pipes mentioned earlier different?
They are usually only 6 meters long, but actually there are also ones that are 9 and 10 meters long.

With the improvement of manufacturing and transportation technologies, pipes are generally only 6 meters long or come in multiples of 3 meters (3 meters, 6 meters, 9 meters, 12 meters); however, other lengths are also possible, such as 5 meters or 7 meters, depending on the customer’s requirements. The technical agreement for pipeline procurement usually specifies delivery in lengths of 6 meters, or in multiples of 12 meters； It is also possible to require that the minimum length of a single tube be no less than 6 meters (this is not recommended).
