I asked for help on the forum before; a chain-operated valve was installed on this underground butterfly valve. But it doesn’t work well – the chain tends to fall off and get stuck; it takes 3 minutes to go from fully open to fully closed, and it’s quite difficult to operate by one person. Now a motor needs to be added to the side of the well – how can it be connected to this valve in the best way?
By removing the worm gear transmission mechanism and installing an electric actuator, electric operation for opening and closing can be achieved above the well. The entire process takes less than 1 second. If the pressure of the medium in the pipeline is high, rapid opening and closing are not recommended.
It is recommended to replace the original chain with gears; a gear should be installed at the top of the well, just like in the traditional water-pumping pulleys. By operating this pulley, the valve located underground can be opened. It is advisable that the gear on the pulley not be larger than the gear underground, in order to prevent the valve from rotating too quickly and generating excessive force
An additional set of sleeve links needs to be processed. Oh, you should try installing it by rotating the bracelet rod 90° – I wonder if that will work? This allows a long linkage to be directly installed above the wellhead. For reference.
Replace it with a pneumatic butterfly valve; if an electric valve is used, there is water in the valve chamber, so high insulation requirements apply
Since you’re already planning to install a motor, why not consider adding a pneumatic or electric actuator as well? It would be great to have a higher protection level; it saves time and effort.

It’s easy to fix – just replace the valve head with an electric one; their hole spacing is the same
What can be changed is your environment; electric ones need to be soaked in water.
