As the title suggests, what is the difference between using HG20592 (A) and using HG20615? How significant is it? Thank you
HG20592 is formulated in accordance with the European standard EN 1092-1 and belongs to the PN series; whereas HG20615 is formulated based on the American standard series and belongs to the American system. There is a fundamental difference between the two; when the pipe diameter is small, the wall thicknesses differ little and they can be used interchangeably. However, when the diameter is greater than DN250, the wall thicknesses differ significantly, and they cannot be used interchangeably.
Most of China’s standards are adapted from internationally recognized standards, and flanges and pipes are common and widely used products; aligning with international standards facilitates import and export. 592 adopts European standards, while 615 uses American standards; it is also suitable for products from devices manufactured in Europe and the United States.
The series are different, with significant differences. It is meaningless to discuss the differences in a specific piece of data. The meaning lies in the system; one must strictly follow the system, no matter which one it is
HG20592 (A) is the small outer diameter series.
HG20592 belongs to the European standard, and it is further divided into a large outer diameter series and a small outer diameter series. The large outer diameter series (commonly known as imperial) is consistent with the American standard. The small outer diameter series (commonly known as metric) is an outer diameter system currently in use in China. HG20615, SH3047, and ASME B16.5 are all part of the American standard series. The flange sizes of these standards are basically the same.
The pressure in kilograms is also different. 20592 corresponds to PN6, PN10, PN16, PN25, PN40, PN63, PN100, and PN160; 20615 refers to PN20, PN50, PN110, PN150, PN260, and PN420S – the pressures for these are different. However, the diameter of series A for 20592 is the same as that of 20615, with all other aspects being different
