Dear sea friends, if two valves are installed side by side, what are the requirements regarding the installation distance? Which standard specifies this? I heard that there are the following requirements: 1. The spacing between adjacent handles should be 100 MM; 2. The spacing between pipes should be 50 MM, and the spacing between flanges should be 25 MM. Does anyone know the exact source of these requirements?
No specific standards are required for this; one only needs to consider the flange diameter, the diameter change at the valve and its handle, as well as the ease of operation and maintenance
Two pipes with two valves are installed side by side; if the distance between them is too large, offset installation can be considered, as long as there is enough space for the flanges.

(1) If two valves are installed side by side, a spacing of 100 mm should be considered between their handles; 100 mm is the minimum clear distance that allows a person’s fingers to operate them easily. (2) Pipe spacing: 50 MM (some design firms specify 30 mm); flange spacing: 25 MM. Based on the minimum clear distance required for welding operations by personnel, it is the smallest distance that does not affect the thermal expansion of the pipelines.
