I’ve looked up a lot of information and found that there are very few companies in China that produce these flanges. Does anyone know any other Grayloc manufacturers besides Chengdu Zhiyuan? I’d be extremely grateful~

There are only about 3 or 4 manufacturers of this type both domestically and internationally. Although such flanges have many advantages, they also have several disadvantages: high requirements are placed on the hardness of the gasket material as well as on the precision of its processing. Additionally, if a leak occurs during operation, it is not possible to seal the leak while the system is under pressure; instead, the system must be shut down to carry out repairs. In China, this type of flange is only found in imported equipment that comes along with the devices. Domestic design institutes rarely use them, as mature flange sealing systems are already in use for such pressure conditions, providing designers and users with reliability and confidence.
I completely agree with your view. The key is whether the hardness match between the gasket and the shoulder is appropriate. If it gets missed, it will be very difficult to deal with. Since there are already mature flange products available, there is no need to look for alternatives. Upon checking this website, there is not a single word mentioned regarding the product leakage rate test data – is it being concealed, or hasn’t such a test been conducted? This is quite worrying. Also, the TS mark for special equipment product certification must be displayed; otherwise, users of uncertified products may face liability. Please have someone in the know or a supplier provide details, thank you!
Grayloc’s sealing relies on the elasticity of the seal ring lip, and no difference in hardness is required to achieve sealing. In 2012, the Pressure Pipeline Components Committee issued a notice (Notice No. 151 of 2012) stating that imported pressure pipeline components do not require a manufacturing license for special equipment; only a type test report is needed.
