Is there any term for having many bends in the pump outlet pipeline?
It is likely that the operating height of the valve is being taken into consideration
It seems a bit upside down; if it’s for ease of use, it would be perfectly fine to make a small stool
For ease of operation; otherwise, the height of the outlet valve is too high
If the outlet is too high, it becomes difficult to provide support, carry out operations, and perform maintenance; adding an operation platform makes things even more complicated
There are probably too many factors. Could you send a clearer photo with it facing straight ahead?
When the temperature of the medium operating the pump is high, this type of piping arrangement is adopted based on pipeline stress analysis. Adding elbows can improve the flexibility of the pipes, reduce secondary stresses in them, and lessen the stress on the pump’s outlet nozzle. Most of the centrifugal pumps produced by our company use this kind of piping configuration.
GB50316 provisions regarding piping: Pipeline layout – For pipes above the ground, it is generally specified that the pipeline layout must meet the requirements of the process as well as those outlined in the piping and instrumentation diagrams. The layout should also facilitate production operations, installation, and maintenance. It is advisable to use overhead installation; the planning and arrangement should be neat and orderly. In areas within workshops or installations where maintenance is difficult, pipes carrying highly corrosive fluids or similar substances should not be laid underground. For pipes that expand and contract due to temperature changes, flexible design considerations must be taken into account, and the extent of such considerations should not be less than what is specified in this code and in the engineering design. In the pipeline layout, pipe vibration must be controlled in accordance with the requirements set out in Article [X] of this code
