Everyone, for hydrogen pipelines with an operating pressure of 20 MPa at room temperature, can carbon steel pipes be used? What about the valve?
Seamless carbon steel pipes can be used, but those conforming to the 8163 standard cannot. Valves can also be made of carbon steel.
The design specifications for hydrogen stations require that high-pressure valves be made of stainless steel.
For hydrogen at room temperature, carbon steel pipes are used in hydrocracking units. You can paste the exact wording from the hydrogen station specifications so that everyone can understand it better

There’s nothing special about it; the flow rate is controlled according to standards, the valves are made of stainless steel, with male-female connections or ring-type joints. For GC1 pipelines, carbon steel materials such as 6479 or 9948 are used, while 8163 must undergo ultrasonic testing to meet the requirements before it can be used in GC1 pipelines
